OUR HISTORY

Our church building was built in 1906 as the original Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The building was acquired by the Church of God in the 50's. After the Des Moines flood in the 90's, the church was damaged and "The Men and Women of Action" Church of God group volunteered and refurbished our building. These refurbishing included; youth room, coffee room, nursery, offices and additional bathrooms to the design we have today. This outreach of the Church of God group was a blessing that kept the ongoing of our mission as Valley Junction Church of God.

We as a church have a heart to reach the lost, disciple the growing, and advance the Kingdom of God. Our mission is to Honor God, Love People, and Make Disciples. We accomplish this through the acronym REACH :
Reach - Share the good news of the Good News of the Gospel and reach the lost. 
Equip - Help the growing Christian and equip them with the necessary tools to live a victorious life
Assist - Support and assist those that have needs
Connect - We strive to connect people to the body of Christ, edifying relationships, and ministry opportunities
Heritage - Providing a church body that builds character and translates a Godly heritage that is passed down to the generations to come

We are excited to see what God has in store for us as we share the history and truth of the gospel.
